Shiskine, Isle of Arran

Shiskine takes its name from a corruption of the Gaelic for a marshy place, in olden times much of the valley was swamp. Today the area mainly compromises of farmland.

Shiskine is close to the peaks of Ben Nuis and Ben Bharrain.
