Sannox, Isle of Arran

Sannox is a small village with one of the nicest beaches on the island.

Like its neighbour Corrie, Sannox was also home to mines. Barytes mines opened in 1840 but were closed some twenty years later. The mine was re-opened after the First World War and remained working 'till the vein petered out in1938.
